My background
I studied Law as one of my A levels and progressed to do this as a degree at Sheffield Hallam University. I have work experience in Commercial law and formerly spent my free time assisting at the Citizens Advice Bureau to help those where I could.
What I do
When I initially started at Minster Law in September 2017, I worked on liability admitted Personal Injury claims arising from a car accident. I then joined the motorcycle team in February 2018 and now deal with both liability admitted and denied Personal Injury claims for client’s who have been injured as a result of a bike accident.
The best part of my job is
The main thing I enjoy about my job is the client satisfaction when we obtain compensation for those who have been injured and for those whose lives have been affected as a result of the accidents they have been involved in.

Charlotte Banks

My background
I began studying Law in 2006 and I am now a legally qualified Litigation Executive to post graduate level.
I have been working in the legal industry since 2014, initially in Road Traffic Accident car claims, but more recently I have taken on a new challenge by moving to the bike team, where I deal with cases that involve more complex injuries.
What I do
On a daily basis I help my clients achieve the right outcome by guiding them through the process and trying to make the progression of their claim as simplistic and efficient as possible. I also obtain the best result for my client when the appropriate time comes for the case to be settled.

Jamie Bindley

My background
I graduated in 2018 from Swansea University and started working in the bike team at the start of 2019. I have also previously worked in our admin department in Minster Law's Serious Injury department.
Alongside my studies, I previously worked for various financial companies, dealing with client’s credit situations.
What I do
My role covers a number of duties on both pre-litigated cases and litigated matters. I often draft proceedings, draft witness statements, review medical legal reports and assist the team.

The satisfaction of knowing that my assistance on cases contributes to aiding the client’s personal injury journey.

My background

What I do

Joanne Jewell-Purves

My background
I have worked at Minster Law since 2008 and started as a small claims assistant and have worked my way up. I secured a training contract and qualified as a Solicitor in March 2018 and have continued to pursue my career at Minster Law ever since, more recently moving into people management.
What I do
I am a Team Leader in the bike team which mainly consists of providing coaching, training and support to the colleagues in my hub. I run regular team meetings, training sessions and case clinics in order to do this. As well as my role as a Team Leader, I continue my Solicitor role as I also deal with a small amount of litigated cases.

I really enjoy the coaching and developing aspect of my role, providing feedback and seeing people achieve their goals.

I qualified in 2003 and practiced Litigation at two commercial law firms in Yorkshire. From 2011, I began to work on Employment matters alongside Litigation. I have specialised in Employment work since 2015 and I joined the Personal Legal Services team at Minster Law in October 2017.
What I do
I am an Employment Solicitor and I deal with a range of contentious employment matters such as unfair dismissal, redundancy, unlawful deductions, whistleblowing, breach of contract and discrimination. I also assist with FLP helpline queries about property disputes due to previous experience.

Enabling clients to be compensated for being poorly treated by their employer and to move on with their lives.

Lynette Ogley

My background
I have been helping customers with personal injury road traffic accidents at Minster Law since November 2008.
What I do
I deal with personal injury claims resulting out of a road traffic accident from anywhere between a few months to a few years. Assessing liability on claims as well as valuing injuries and liaising with customers on a daily basis

I enjoy helping customers and receiving positive feedback is always a huge plus.

My background
I initially started my legal career in the insurance market dealing predominately with defendant claims. I decided to then take on a new challenge and later changed to working on claimant claims.
What I do
I work in the technical department of Minster Law's bike team.
I deal with litigated files from start to finish, which involves issuing the cases and seeing the cases through substantive proceedings towards trial.
The best part of my job is
I like to see a case through to settlement and to get the best results for my client. I find this really rewarding, especially when i receive positive feedback by way of a google review.

Rachel Clayton

My background
I qualified as a Solicitor in 2008 after carrying out my training contract in the not for profit sector. Following on from this I moved into private practice and have specialised in employment law throughout my career.
What I do
I am an Associate Solicitor in Personal Legal Services. My role involves overseeing the team on a day to day basis, carrying out a number of management duties. The team is split into two areas, the Family Legal Protection Advice line and the Legal Team. I have specific responsibility for the Legal Team. We run litigation in relation to employment, consumer and property disputes. I support the team through training and supervision and make sure we deliver casework of a consistently high quality to Minster Law customers.

am a Claimant employment lawyer at heart. This is my background and what I love to do. I enjoy challenging inequality in the workplace via the various discrimination cases we run and achieving excellent results for our client’s.

My background
I have always been interested in pursuing a career in law. I joined Minster Law in 2017 as a Trainee Litigation Executive and since graduating I have moved into the bike team. Before I joined Minster Law I worked as a legal administrator in another law firm.

Rosie Owen

My background
In July 2014 I completed my Masters of Law and Practice at University of Huddersfield achieving a first class degree with commendation for the Legal Practice Course.
I subsequently started my first role at Minster Law in September 2014, as a Legal Assistant within our Personal Injury department. Within 4 months I was enrolled onto an internal Trainee Legal Executive programme, and upon completion of the programme I became a Legal Executive in December 2015. Within this role, I specialised in Road Traffic Accident Personal Injury claims.
I was then successful in obtaining a Training Contract at Minster Law, which commenced in March 2016. Within my Training Contract, I spent 2 years working within seats across different areas of the business. Upon completion of my Training Contract in March 2018, I was successful in obtaining a position as an Employment Solicitor within the Personal Legal Services department. During my time in this role, I acted on behalf of Claimant’s pursuing a range of Employment matter, including discrimination, unfair dismissal and whistle blowing claims.
What I do
Since April 2019 I have been Team Leader of the Family Legal Protection helpline within our Personal Legal Services department, who provide generic legal advice to customers of the Family Legal Protection policy. Whilst performing this role, I also run a caseload of Employment and Consumer matters.

The best part of my job is supporting my clients through difficult situations and achieving the right outcomes for them. I also love developing and supporting my team so that they can do the same.

I started my legal career in 2010 at Minster Law. I started as a Legal assistant in the MOJ department and worked my way up to being an experienced case handler.
After 6 years of working in the MOJ department I moved over to Complex Claims in 2016 to be a Paralegal Assistant where I assisted a Solicitor.
I have recently moved over to the bike team to be an MOJ/FRC Claims Handler.
What I do
My role in the bike team involves running a blended caseload of both MOJ/FRC claims. My aim is to try and settle the claim by achieving the best and most efficient outcome for the client.

Terry Crane

My background
I have worked on Road Traffic Collision legal cases since 2001 and I have specialised in this area of personal injury cases since 2010.
What I do
I help customers with personal injury cases from the point that legal proceedings are issued against a Defendant to the conclusion of the customer’s case either by negotiated settlement or via attendance at a final trial. I also supervise and mentor junior case managers within the team.
The best part of my job is
Explaining the legal process carefully to each of my customer’s cases and getting them the money they deserve from the offending party.

Joanne Somers-Wells

I was sponsored by former employers to undertake CILEX and qualified as a Legal Executive. Subsequently I went on to complete the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School to qualify as a Solicitor. I undertook my training by distance learning, whilst working and having a young family.
I have been working in personal injury since 2001.
What I do
As part of the MAPP team I assess new cases into the business to determine whether they are multi track value and allocate them to a fee earner in Multi track.
Additionally, I review cases already within the business to assess their value, draft case plans and allocate to multi track if they are of sufficient value.
I undertake regular training to colleagues within CSC and fast track teams to assist them in identifying multi track cases.
The best part of my job is
Being in a position to assist clients who have been recently seriously injured in accidents in allocating their cases to experienced Solicitors who are going to be able to help them on their road to recovery and obtain damages to ensure they are adequately compensated for their injuries.

What I do
I currently work in our Personal Legal Services Department as a Legal Helpline Advisor and I have been in this role for over a year. The helpline provides general legal advice on all legal matters.

I studied my degree at UCLan and the LPC at Northumbria before qualifying as a Fellow member of CILEx and a Solicitor in 2018. I have worked in Road Traffic Accident Personal Injury since 2004 and specialised in motorcycle claims since 2016.
What I do
I am both a Team Leader and Solicitor who runs a case load of litigated cases, from drafting the court papers through to settlement and/or trial. Alongside this I also have a team of 4 members of staff who I act as a team leader for.

I have been working in Personal Injury since 1998 and have been lucky enough to receive exposure to a variety of areas of personal injury, Small Track/Fast Track/Multi-Track across Employers Liability, Occupiers Liability, Road Traffic Accident and Industrial Deafness. Whilst obtaining practical knowledge on the job I have gained the legal knowledge via the CILEX course. I joined Minster Law in 2009 as a Fee Earner role in both litigated and non litigated claims. My background
I started my legal career in a high street firm in which I worked for over 8 years assisting Solicitors, exploring various aspects of law, such as conveyancing, family law, wills and probate and personal injury. I decided that personal injury law was the industry that I would like to settle into and I obtained a Legal Assistant role at Minster Law in 2013. I provide assistance to Fee Earners in the Multi-Track Department, which deals with more serious injuries and complex claims. I am currently undertaking legal studies in Cilex Level 6 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice.
What I do
My role is to support Fee Earners in assisting our clients and ensuring that they have a smooth journey through the claims process. I assist in obtaining the evidence needed to achieve the best possible result and maximum compensation for the client.
