Richard Harwood

Director of Legal Services
Background

I am a solicitor and qualified in 1996. During this time, I have only ever worked at two firms. I was an equity partner and head of personal injury at my old firm, where for 19 years I dealt with catastrophic injury claims. I settled numerous cases valued between £500k and £3m. Eight years ago, I joined Minster Law initially as a serious injury team manager, rising to the senior leadership team being responsible for the day to day running of our serious injury department jointly with director of operations, Joanne Peacock.

What are you most passionate about in your job?

It is the same now as it was 25 years ago. My first ever file I worked on and ran involved a client whose life had been turned upside by a terrible accident that left her out of work and in need of lifetime care. Supporting, helping and resolving the terrible consequences of an accident and making someone’s life better is what has always and continues to drive me.

What are your personal interests outside of work?

I am outdoors person. I have always loved going skiing; I raced for my university ski team and took a coaching course. When not on skis, you are likely to find me in the Lincolnshire Wolds walking my dog or riding my bike.

"I work closely with many of the fee earners, but in particular and at a strategic level, Richard Harwood is my main point of contact. Richard is a pleasure to deal with; he is the architect behind many of their achievements in recent times."
