When uniting the Minster offices into one Yorkshire site in 2018, colleagues from our York office joined our Wakefield colleagues under one roof. Minster was faced with the challenge of meeting the parking needs of an increased number of commuters with limited car parking space. With increased commuting from the workforce, Liftshare was introduced as an initiative to get as many people parked on site as possible whilst, most importantly, being kinder to the environment.
Liftshare allowed colleagues to find car share buddies living near them so they could commute to and from work together – guaranteeing car sharers a dedicated Liftshare parking space at the office. An instant success, Liftshare reduced pressure on car parking availability, reduced CO2 emissions and brought people from across the business together who may otherwise not interact with one another.
Since June 2019, we have:
- Saved 20k in miles, which would have otherwise contributed to congestion and CO2 emissions
- Saved 4 tonnes of CO2
- Saved £9.2k in colleague travel costs
With the successful introduction of Liftshare and a reduction in our CO2 emissions, we’re delighted to share that Minster has been awarded Liftshare scheme of the Month.
Adam, Client Engagement Manager at Liftshare, said: “It’s really refreshing to see such a close-knit company taking the initiative, solving problems and contributing to our goal of CO2 reduction and cars off the road.”
