Minster Law, part of the BGL Group, is concentrating on the joy of giving this Christmas by introducing Giving Trees to its offices in York, Wakefield and London. The Giving Trees will support local good causes by providing presents to charities in the community.
Each of Minster Law’s three offices will have its own Giving Tree decorated with tags. Every employee who wants to take part can take a tag from the tree that gives a recipient’s age and gender. The employee then buys a present for that person (to a maximum value of £20), wraps it, affixes the tag and puts it back under the tree where it will be collected and distributed to Age UK and Barnardo’s. As an added Christmas bonus, BGL Group will match fund each gift left under the tree to the full £20 value to a maximum of £1,000 at each site.
BGL Group’s Communications Director and CSR Committee Head, James Evans, commented: “The Giving Trees are a wonderful idea and enable our employees to support their local communities and provide those less fortunate than ourselves with some festive cheer. Our people have really embraced the concept and I am sure we can help to raise a lot of smiles.”
“Corporate Social Responsibility is a central part of what makes BGL a special place to work. Our programmes has recently been recognised with community awards in Peterborough and Sunderland and the Giving Trees are the latest development.”
