Background
I qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2009 and have worked at Minster Law since 2007. Before this, I worked in other large personal injury departments around Yorkshire. The majority of my work now involves serious personal injury cases, usually acting for bikers. Typically, a case will involve serious orthopaedic injuries and/or brain injuries. I have also developed a specialism in chronic pain cases, which can have a very serious and restricting impact on my clients. I have worked on and settled high value Fibromyalgia and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome cases, as well as other pain conditions.
What are you most passionate about in your job?
Having empathy and trying to get into a client’s shoes and understand what they need is key to getting the best outcome for seriously injured people. Are they now unable to work and in a difficult financial position? Are they responsible for a family and need support and private treatment to start on the road to recovery? These questions are important in the aftermath of a serious and often life-changing injury. I focus on getting an early interim payment and private rehabilitation where available and working collaboratively with the responsible insurer where that is possible, to secure ongoing support as required.
What are your personal interests outside of work?
I have had a lifelong interest in football, which these days is focused on watching my two sons play every weekend and going to watch my local grassroots team with a group of friends and their children. I enjoy cooking and days out with my family.
