Oliver Marsh

Serious Injury Associate
Background

I’m an Associate in the Serious Injury Department, with over 20 years of experience supporting clients through a wide variety of high-value, complex personal injury cases. I’ve had the privilege of working across a range of areas, including Road Traffic Accidents, Employers Liability, Public Liability, Cross-Border Catastrophic Injury, and Large Loss claims. My expertise lies in cases involving complex injury types such as spinal injuries, severe orthopaedic damage to the upper and lower limbs, polytrauma, neurological conditions like brachial plexus injuries, brain and vestibular disorders, and psychological challenges such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I also have significant experience in managing Chronic Pain conditions, including CRPS, Post-Surgical Pain, neuropathic pain syndromes, Functional Neurological Disorders, and internal injuries like gastrointestinal or respiratory conditions resulting from workplace exposures. At Minster, my work primarily revolves around serious injury claims arising from road traffic accidents, where I represent motorcyclists, drivers, and passengers.

What are you most passionate about in your job?

I am deeply committed to being a strong advocate for my clients, offering not only legal expertise but also empathy and compassion for their individual needs. Whilst I approach my cases with understanding and care, I am equally determined in my litigation strategy, always striving to achieve the best possible outcome for those I represent. Having spent over two decades representing people from all walks of life, I know just how life-changing a serious injury can be, impacting not only the individual but also their loved ones. I believe strongly in the importance of early intervention, whether it’s securing tailored rehabilitation services or ensuring interim payments to alleviate any financial strain during the recovery process. Building strong, trusting relationships is key to getting the best results. I always strive to foster good communication with everyone involved in the claims process, including my counterparts. I place a lot of importance on working collaboratively and actively encourage my opponents to engage with the Rehabilitation Code from the very beginning. I take most pride in guiding my clients and their families through the claims process as smoothly and supportively as possible. I understand the emotional and physical toll this journey can take, so I focus on reducing the stress involved, allowing them to focus on what matters most—recovery.

What are your personal interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors. Whether it’s hiking, skiing, mountain biking, paddleboarding, or running, I enjoy staying active and being in nature. My dog is always up for an adventure, and I try to get my kids involved too—though I’m lucky if I can convince them to join!
