Here at Minster Law, our clients are at the very heart of everything we do. We understand that being involved in an accident, especially one that was not your fault, can be extremely distressing leaving you feeling vulnerable, frustrated, and angry.
Quite often the road to recovery is long and difficult when you have suffered injuries because of an accident. You may need surgery and weeks or months of rehabilitation. Not having full mobility and being in pain for long periods of time understandably has an effect on not only you but also your loved ones. You just want life to “get back to normal” and be able to do the things you could before.
It is a harsh reality that often, NHS treatment can involve long waiting lists and last-minute cancellations which can have a detrimental effect on not only your recovery but also your mental health.
You may also have to take time off work which can put you under enormous financial strain. The last thing you want to worry about at a time of ill health and stress is whether you will be able to pay your bills, this is especially true in the current cost of living crisis.
Thankfully, where another driver is at fault for an accident you can make a claim for compensation from their insurance company. You are entitled to be compensated for the injuries you have sustained, the pain they have caused and the detrimental effects they have had on your ability to live your day-to-day life.
You are also entitled to be compensated for any other losses you have incurred because of the accident, such as damage to your vehicle, travel expenses to and from medical appointments and any care and assistance you receive from friends and family members for everyday tasks you would normally have been able to do yourself but can’t because of your injuries.
It is no secret that the claims process can be a long one, especially when the injuries sustained are serious. The claims process can be a daunting prospect because most of us are fortunate to not have experience of it. Here at Minster Law, we believe it is important that our clients feel informed and supported throughout the whole process and we pride ourselves on making client service our top priority.
There are several ways in which we support our clients to ensure they have the best experience possible through what can be a very difficult time:
Client Video Calls
It is not always possible to meet your file handler in person and we therefore strongly encourage videocalls with our clients at key stages of the claim to promote strong client/file handler relationships.
Client Portal
We have a dedicated client portal for certain types of claims – “INK” – which is aimed to transform the claims process, making it simpler and more accessible for our clients. Through INK, our clients can track the progress of their claim, receiving notifications for key milestones, manage medical appointments, and approve reports as well as uploading receipts to add to their claim, so that nothing is missed. Once a settlement is reached, they can accept an offer straight away and have the money transferred quickly to them. Using client feedback we are continually improving and expanding our online services to keep us at the very forefront of client service.
Colleague Training and Development
All our colleagues at Minster undergo comprehensive and ongoing professional development, whether through formal training programmes, in-house training, or with the support of their mentors, so our clients can be confident that their dedicated file handler will be well equipped to obtain the best possible outcome for them.
Initial Needs Assessments & Treatment
We understand that access to rehabilitation services is key for our clients’ recovery, and we actively seek to obtain funding from the defendant for a treatment assessment and any recommended rehabilitation such as physiotherapy and counselling. We have access to top medical experts and rehabilitation providers at the cutting edge of rehabilitation technology, and we will fund the cost of those, rather than asking our clients to do so.
Interim Payments
Where a client has had to take time off work due to their injuries and is suffering financial hardship as a result, we will fight for an interim payment to ease the burden while the claims process is ongoing. Our colleagues are experienced in negotiating such requests and will strive to do so where appropriate. You can take a look at our interim payment guide for more information.
Our clients are our main priority and we fight for them to obtain the best possible award for the injuries and losses they have suffered as a result of another party’s negligence. Should you pursue a claim for compensation with us, we will do everything possible to make sure you are supported and always informed. We will continually strive to ensure you receive the highest possible levels of service and that you feel valued and respected throughout the life of your claim.
